Germans love Beer, Austrians love Bakery

They speak the same language but they don't eat the same food


Last night I've extracted the weights given to food categories in the respective consumer price indices of the two countries.
The idea is that the weights are a good estimator what people in the various countries eat.
Germans definitly love beer, but also they drink more in general. Austrians love pastries, but also more meat and cooking oil. After all, the Wiener Schnitzel is not a cliché.
